Happy President’s Day!
Many presidents past and president have found themselves on the links numerous times during their presidencies, and some seem to have grass and tees pumping through their veins.
Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush come from a lineage of presidents, but not just presidents of the United States. The grandfather and great-grandfather of George H.W. Bush were both presidents of the USGA, and the grandfather was the creator of the Walker Cup. The U.S. Presidents from this line have spent a lot of time on the links over the years, but rumor has it they play a quick game.
Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and Woodrow Wilson are recorded as the most frequent golfers while in office. Each president served two terms in the oval office, and in that time they combined for over 1,800 golf rounds (1,000+ for Wilson and 800+ for Eisenhower). That’s a round at least every 3-4 days while leading the United States of America.
Clearly golf was a great priority for these gentlemen. How many rounds will you play in 2016?
